James A. Gonsior, age 82 of Delano, formerly of Maple Plain, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 1, 2017. He was born on October 24, 1935 in Watertown, Minnesota to John and Dorothy (Speckel) Gonsior.

Jim was married 49 years to Sharon (Hanseman). Jim & Sharon enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. in their motorhome, wintering in Sun City Center, FL and spending summers in Nisswa, MN. Snowmobiling as a family and other family time were Jim’s passion. Jim was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph Catholic Church. He worked for and retired from Honeywell after 30+ years.

Jim will be greatly missed by his family. He was preceded in death by his wife Sharon in 2004; grandson Brandon Dubay; sister Susie (Tom) Redmond. He is survived by son C.J. (Clarence) (Julie); daughter Clarice (Philip) Dubay; grandchildren Heather, Ryan (Courtney), Stephanie (Daniel) Blau; great grandchildren Gwenivere, Lillian & Abigail Blau, Finley Gonsior; brother Jerry (Zenda) Gonsior.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 AM on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delano. Visitation was 4-8 PM on Wednesday at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano. Visitation continued 10-11 AM with 9:30 AM KC Rosary on Thursday, prior to the Mass at the church. Interment was in the church cemetery.
