James W. Tynen
November 11, 2024

James William Tynen, born on March 7, 1955 in Crystal, Minnesota, died peacefully at age 69 on November 11, 2024, closely surrounded by loving family.

This quiet sportsman was a Cooper High School runner and a proud Air Force veteran.

He retired from Nonin Medical as a dedicated electronics wizard, but spent all his free time enjoying and relentlessly pursuing his many passions: his family, his friends, waterskiing, hunting, fishing, bowling, golf, ….and his sweetheart Jo, whom he caught and married …twice!  He excelled at everything he did.

We are broken-hearted at his leaving, but deeply thankful for what he has left us – a legacy of excellence, of selfless thoughtfulness, of unassuming strength and kind instruction to admire and model. And courage to always do the right thing, no matter the personal cost.

Greeting him in heaven are his parents Jim and Eileen Tynen.

Left to miss him dearly are:

his eternally loving wife Jo, with whom he celebrated 32 years of wedded bliss on November 7th;

his son Gregg (Andrea);

his grandchildren Keith (Kenzie), Anthony, Kaitlyn and Alexandra;

his five adorable great-grandchildren Journey, Echo, Isabel, Trinity and Mya;

siblings Jan Jacobs (Jake), Kathy Haley (Jeff), Gerry (Nicole), Pat (Jean) and Mary Beth Hintzman (fiancé Barry Rogers).

And many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
