Janet Anne Thompson, age 92 of Monticello, formerly of Bixby, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017 with her family by her side. She was born on September 19, 1925 in Syracuse, New York to Karl and Mae (Weber) Heinrich.

Janet was united in marriage to Byron Thompson on February 19, 1949 in Syracuse, New York. Her top priority was her family, to whom she was selfless and dedicated.

Janet also enjoyed growing and propagating African violets, knitting and sewing, teaching Religious education classes and other church activities, prayer and reading fiction and the newspaper.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents Karl and Mae, brother William Heinrich, half sister Karla Heinrich and an infant sister. She is survived by her husband of 68 years Byron; children Daniel, Kathleen (Daniel) Johnson, William, Richard (Wendy); grandchildren Marcia Johnson, Gregory (Jodi) Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Georganna Thompson, Nicholas Thompson; great granddaughter Iona Johnson; sister-in-law Cheryl Duarte; Niece Barbara Lindo; Nephew Robert Heinrich; Cousin Mary Courtney.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 AM on Friday, November 24, 2017 at the Immaculate Catholic Church in Watertown. Visitation was from 10-11 AM prior to the Mass at the church. Interment was in the church cemetery.
