Janice Charlotte Major age 75 of Howard Lake, Minnesota died on Friday, March 26, 2010 at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. She was born September 4, 1934 to Arthur and Luella Shuman in Watertown, Minnesota.

Janice was a lifelong farmer. She loved to collect things, especially dolls and chickens. Growing flowers, raising kittens, and attending auctions were things that personified Janice.

She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Luella Schuman; brother Darwin Schuman, sister and brother-in-law LaDonna and Alan Lange; step son Gary Major. Janice is survived by her husband Zane; children Marlana Mogensen, Joyce and Mark Mogensen, Lynn and Paul Euerle, Lori and Randy Olson, Lisa Major; daughter-in-law Beth Major; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law Leann and Milan Stender; brother and sister-in-law Orville and Glenora Schuman, Loren and Jean Schuman.

Memorial services were held on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at St. James Lutheran Church, Howard Lake. Rev. Martin Schoenfeld officiated at the services.
