Jerome Henry

Jerome “Jerry” Henry, age 70 of Big Lake, formerly of Waverly passed away Friday, December 15, 2017. He was born on December 24, 1946 in Cokato, Minnesota to John and Hildegard (Klein) Henry. He was the 7th of 8 children.

 

Jerry graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1965. He worked for the SOO Line Railroad for 25+ years.

 

Jerry was known for his sense of humor. He could add a humorous twist to anything. He enjoyed talking with his brothers about memories of growing up in Waverly. He was very good at analytical thinking. He could troubleshoot problems by looking at them from every angle. Jerry could also fix anything whether it was mechanical, electrical or unknown.

 

Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He loved his family and was proud of them.

 

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents John and Hildegard Henry; brothers Bob Henry and John Henry Jr.; sister Judy Greiner; sisters-in-law Darlene Henry and Joyce Spence; brothers-in-law Kenny Snedeker, Robert Spence, Bill Heck and Del Layton. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Peggy; children Jeff (Sandy) Henry, Jessica (Kevin) Kramer and Amy (John) Casper; 8 grandchildren Alex, Ty, Kayla, Clay, Wyatt (Lesley), Maddie, Colby and Megan; siblings Pam (Brian) Neaton, Gene (Betty) Henry, Dale (Sharon) Henry and Roy (Sylvia) Henry; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Dudley Greiner, Bill Spence, Deloris Layton, Rita (Lloyd) Johnston, Mayme Spence, Bernadette Heck and Monica Snedeker; as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

 

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 AM on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the Church of St. Mary in Waverly. A Gathering of family and friends was held on Thursday, from 9-10:45 AM prior to the Mass, in the St. Mary’s Parish Center. Memorials are Preferred.
