John Herman Oeffling, age 78 of Delano, Minnesota, formerly of Loretto and St. Bonifacius, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021. He was born on May 4, 1942 to Peter and Rose (Klonne) Oeffling in Loretto, Minnesota.

John was a hard-working farmer, a devoted Catholic man, and a John Deere enthusiast. He also loved to hunt and fish. John was very kind and had a special place in his heart for animals. He was always cheerful with an infectious laugh. John also worked hard as a scrapper, sanitation worker, and tow truck operator.

John was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Donald and Dennis; brothers-in-law Dewey Anderson and Nolan Kusilek; nephews Dan Anderson, Dale Ledstrom, and John “Johnna” Tolbet. He is survived by his sisters Lorraine (Ron) Hartneck, Marjorie Kusilek Dalbec (friend Roger Swierkowski), Marie (Henry) Dubay, and Carolyn Anderson; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, January 30 at 11:00 am at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto. Visitation was from 10:00-11:00 am prior to Mass at the church. Interment was at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
