Karen Marie Larson, age 74 of Independence, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021. She was born on January 10, 1947 in Los Angeles, California to Paul and Doris Spurgeon.

Karen graduated from Tampa College and earned an Associate Degree in Science in Paralegal.

Karen loved to read novels and spend time with her family of cats.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Doris Spurgeon

She is survived by her husband Forest; sons Scott Sandahl and Timothy Sandahl; siblings Tami (Bill) Frailey, Kathy Hughes (Tony Garcia), Jan (Rick) Pierson, and James Spurgeon.

A Celebration of Life was held at 2 PM on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano. A Gathering of family and friends was from 1-2 PM prior to service. Private inurnment.
