Katheryn (“Kati”) Diane Tolkkinen (Witt), age 54 of Chanhassen, formerly Delano, passed away on April 21, 2024. She was born on April 1, 1970 to William and Betty (Bollman) Witt in Waukegan, Illinois.

Kati attended Zion-Benton Township High School and graduated in 1988. She moved to Minnesota immediately upon graduating where she met and began dating her future husband, Brian. They were married at the Apostolic Lutheran Church in Zion Illinois on May 16, 1992.

After working for multiple insurance companies in Minnesota, Kati chose to work within the home full-time to raise her children and to run household affairs. Kati and Brian raised their four children in Delano, Minnesota.

Kati was a dynamic, fiery, and inquisitive personality who was intense in protecting the well-being of her family. She had a soft place in her heart for others in her community who struggled with difficult life-challenges. Her honesty and feisty temperament brought life and laughter to her broader family, and attracted youth from her community to whom she often extended her motherly spirit, strength, and protection.

Kati is preceded in death by her father, William Edward Witt, who passed away in 2020 at the age of 90. She is also preceded in death by her older brother, Edward Albert Witt, who passed away in 2023 at the age of 65.

She is survived by her husband of thirty two years, Brian; her children Malia, Linsey, Evan, and Colin; her grandchildren  Hamza, Lainey, and Payton; her mother Betty Witt; and her siblings Susan (Matthew) Johnson, Sherry (Paul) Skoog, Julie (Kurt) Andrews, Mary (Kurt) Kangas, Tina (Dan) Kinnunen, Jeff Witt, David (Tami) Witt, Cyndi (Timothy) Murray, RuthAnn (Dave) Pietila, Sarah Gomez, Thomas(Rachel) Witt, and Melissa(Kevin) Sliva.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, April 29, 2024 at the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Delano, Minnesota. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano, Minnesota, and continue from 10-11 AM at the church prior to the funeral. A luncheon will immediately follow the service. Interment in East Mt. Olive Cemetery in Delano, Minnesota.
