Lawrence” Larry” Brent McLearen was born July 14, 1949 at the Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Lee and Mickey McLearen.

He attended Willow Lane Elementary School in Brooklyn Center and graduated from Osseo High School in 1967. Larry joined the U.S. Navy in 1968 and was stationed at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, California as a medic.

Larry had a love of music, which led to his forming a band, The Larry McLearen Dance Band. He also enjoyed the thrill of the freedom of riding his motorcycle the”Honda-Davidson”.

Larry was united in marriage to Bonnie Johnson on March 27, 1971 at House of Prayer Lutheran Church in Richfield, Minnesota. They lived in Delano until 1975 at which time they moved to Rockford, where they resided at the time of Larry’s death.

Larry passed away at the Minneapolis V. A. Hospital on October 2, 2010 at the age of 61 years.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie; children Chad and Lisa McLearen, Darin and Teresa McLearen; 2 granddaughters Hailie and Brielle; 3 brothers and spouses Roger and Carole McLearen, Glenn McLearen, Kevin and Jan McLearen; 4 sisters and spouses Kathy and Steve Schum, Colleen and Doug Murray, Maureen “Becky” McLearen, Dorren and Jeff Shrode; as well as many nieces, nephews; brother-in-law Joe Waldherr; sister-in-law and spouse Becky and Dan Siekmann.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Mickey McLearen; a nephew Kent; father-in-law and mother-in-law Ernie and Lil Johnson and sister-in-law Betty Waldherr

Memorial services were held on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Our Father’s Lutheran Church in Rockford, Minnesota at 11:30 a.m. Pastor Jon Rhodes officiated at the services. Memorials preferred.
