Lorelie Gertrude (Chalupsky) Yager age 85 of Loretto passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.  Daughter, sister, friend, teacher, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and beloved child of her God.  Born Jan. 15, 1938, Silver Lake, MN. Grades 1-4 St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Silver Lake, MN. Grades 5-8 St. Mary’s Catholic School in Waverly, MN., Grades 9-12 St. Francis Boarding School in Little Falls, MN. (She loved it, her second home) From 1948-1960 Montrose was home base for her. Graduate of University of St. Catherine, 1955-1959.

Married Donald H. Yager on July 30, 1960, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Waverly, MN.  Together they raised three children in Loretto, MN.

Over the years, Lorelie taught full time in Bloomington and Robbinsdale, Minnesota.  Substituted in the Orono, Rockford and Delano School Districts, taught primary & kindergarten in Delano, and finished as the Director of Title 1 for District 879.

She was an active volunteer in the Loretto community, Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, in the area’s “Moving Forward Group”, and served on the parish school board and parish council.

Deanery representative to the archdiocesan parish council, and representative of the archbishop’s “Family Time Initiative”.

She was preceded in death by her parents Amos and Delores; stepmother Lola; beloved husband Donald; and brother Doug Chalupsky. She is survived by her children Todd (Patti), Jon (Suzanne), and Nichole (Joe) Vogel; grandchildren Catherine Hermes, Candice Kingsley, Noah Yager, Dominic Vogel, Gabriel Vogel, Tessa Vogel; 4 great-grandchildren; twelve brothers and sisters: Gary, Carl, Stephen, Theodore, Jeanne, Brian, Judith, Matthew, Glenn, Kenneth, Lawrence, and Bruce; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM on Monday, October 30, 2023, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto, Minnesota. Visitation was held from 4-7 PM, with a 3:30 PM rosary service on Sunday, October 29^th, 2023, at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano, Minnesota. Visitation continued on Monday from 10-11 AM prior to the Mass, at the church. Interment was in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
