Marva Mae Nolan (Justus)

Marva Mae Nolan age 83 of Wayzata, formerly of Dassel, died on Sunday, June 13, 2021, (0n her 64th wedding anniversary). She was born at home on the farm January 13, 1938 to Robert and Eva (Harrington) Justus in Independence, Minnesota.
Marva was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She graduated from Mound High School in 1956 and went onto a career as a homemaker as well as a bookkeeper in the insurance and food industry.
Marva was a member of Lyndale Lutheran Church from baptism and also a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel.
Marva was fiscally conservative and strove to instill those qualities in her children. She was known for her quick wit and keen insights. Marva loved to spend time with her family and friends, it was her favorite thing to do. She was a caring positive person who would “fill your cup” when you visited with her.
Marva was preceded in death by her husband Ronald “Steve” Nolan on January 28, 2021; her brother Donald Dongoske, and sister Jean Gott and Jean’s husband, Ralph Gott, brother-in-law, Jim Nolan, and sister-in-law, Glenyce Sween and Glen’s husband Randy. She is survived by her daughters Patty (Jon) Malecek, Kay (Kraig) Nowell; grandchildren Rob Malecek, Allison (Joe) Rude, Derek Malecek (and girlfriend Hailie Schultz), Matt Nowell; great granddaughter Claire Rude; sister-in-law, Grace Nolan, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives, notably her cousin and lifelong friend Bob Frank. She leaves behind many close friends.
A memorial service took place at 11 AM on Monday, June 21st at Lyndale Lutheran Church in Lyndale, Minnesota. Gathering of family and friends was from 4-6 PM on Sunday, June 20th, and continued from 10-11 AM on Monday, all at the church.
