Mary C. Field (Stafford), “Diddy” age 84 of Delano.

Mary Stafford Field was born May 20, 1930 in Detroit Lakes to George and Magdalen Stafford. The family moved to St. Cloud while Mary was a junior in high school. She graduated from Cathedral High School. After high school she worked at the Veterans Administration in Minneapolis. It was in the cities that she met her future husband, Harvey J. Field. She and Harvey were married on June 5, 1954 at St. Anthony’s Parish in St Cloud. God blessed their marriage with nine children. They lived in Minneapolis until moving to Delano in 1966.

Mary enjoyed reading, finding bargains at garage sales, and making Christmas ornaments. She loved to play bridge with friends and spend time with her family.

She was a member faithful member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Mary Catherine Field passed away on January 19, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. Preceded in death by parents George and Magdalen (Schaan) Stafford; brothers Father Michael Stafford and John Stafford; daughter-in-law Paula Field; grandchildren Magdalen Sutherland and Eric Sutherland Brush. Survived by loving husband of 60 years, Harvey; children Mike (Cheryl), Mary Jo (Dan) Graunke, Mark (Debbie), Tim (Kris), James (Diane), Margaret (Jon) Sutherland, Jean (Eric) Carlson, Bill (Sherri), Tom (Tracy); 28 grandchildren: Dan, Shelly, Sarah, Carrie, David, Rob, Adam, Brian, Alison, Darrick, Jaime, Chad, Brad, Kelsey, Anna, Kyan, Isaac, Stafford, Emily, Kristen, Cameron, Amelia, Keenan, Dillon, Hannah, Ethan, Mason, Haden; 13 great grandchildren: Tyler, Brayden, Quinne, Riley, Dru, Jaden, Kye, Cole, Evan, Savannah, Maci, Alexandra, Cody; brothers Patrick (Dorie) Stafford, Paul Stafford; sister LuCretia Benolken. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano, Minnesota. Gathering of family and Friends was from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Martha’s Hall of St. Peter Catholic Church. Gathering continued 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Martha’s Hall prior to Mass. Inurnment was in the Calvary Cemetery, Delano, MN. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
