Mary Rose Johnson was born August 3, 1954 in Buffalo, MN to Charlie and Joan (Scanlan) Otto. Mary was a long-time resident of Delano, MN. She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Otto and father and mother-in-law, Bob and LaVerne Johnson.

Mary is survived by her husband of 42 years, Darrell Johnson who was charmed by her big smile from the beginning. They have five children, Sarah Anderson (Eric), Bob Johnson (Nichole), Michael Johnson (Laura), Jeff DeMars (Robyn) and Patrick Johnson (Jenna). Mary is also survived by her nine beloved grandchildren, Oscar, Emma, Ben, Will, Charlotte, Mabel, Mason, Autumn and Paige. Mary was one of ten. Her siblings and their spouses are Sue DeMars (Neal), Frank Otto, Janet Otto, Colleen Johnson (Erik), Jean Baumann (Ron), Stephen Otto (Dawn), Phillip Otto (Donna), Mark Otto (Denise), Kevin Otto (Liz) and Linda Osborne (Stacy). She is also survived by her siblings in law and their spouses, Karen Russek (Jim), Dale Johnson (Sue), Don Johnson (Colleen) and Dick Johnson (Roxanne). Mary’s 35 nieces and nephews and 40 great nieces and nephews gave her so much joy.

Mary was a life-long and active member of St. Peter’s Church in Delano. Mary was the Chief Operations Officer of her family’s over the road trucking company, Otto Transfer, where she worked for over forty years.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano. Visitation was 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in Martha’s Hall of St. Peter Catholic Church with a 8 p.m. Rosary service. Visitation continued on Saturday 10 to 11 a.m. in Martha’s Hall prior to the Mass. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Delano.
