Matthew Paul Beussman, 30, Barstow CA, formerly of Delano, went home July 24, 2016, free of his pain following a battle with PTSD. Matt was a 2004 graduate from Delano High School. He served in the U.S Army from Aug. 2004 – Dec. 2009. He was deployed and fought in Operation Iraqi Freedom from August 2005 – December 2006, serving with the 4th Battalion, 11th Field Artillery Regiment, 172nd STRYKER Brigade out of Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Matt married Angela Anderson July 28, 2007. They were in the midst of moving back to Minnesota.
Matt was a strong, brave man with a great sense of humor and a loving heart. He was a loving, patient father for his 2 boys. He loved to hunt, fish, and work on his truck. His smile was contagious and would light up a room, even though you could barely see it with his big beard.
Matt is survived by his wife Angie; his 2 sons Mason (6) and Hunter (2); his parents Theresa and John Beussman; brother and sister-in-law Kevin and Snow Beussman; grandmothers Myrtle Buesgens and MaryAnn Beussman; parents-in-law Robin and Dave Anderson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Melissa and Ed Arens; nephew and nieces Ezra, Ella and Elsa; best friend Justin Combs; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by grandfathers Elroy Buesgens and Dennis Beussman, and aunt Kathleen Ferrara.
Memorial service was at 10:30 am on Monday, August 15, 2016 at the Delano Evangelical Free Church. Gathering of family and friends was Monday, from 9-10:30 am prior to the service at the church. Inurnment with Military Honors 2 pm at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Mpls.
