Oliver Westrum

Ollie was born on June 20, 1927, to Hannah & John Westrum.  Passed to heaven May 3rd. Graduated Roosevelt in 1945, lettering in football, basketball and baseball.  Joined the Navy at 17 and was awarded the WW2 Victory Medal.  He played fast pitch softball for his employer Soo Line Railroad and won several championships. Proceeded in death by sister Esther, Brother John (Bud), first wife Martha, second wife Audrey, and brother-in-law Tony Koval. He loved his family, Hamm’s beer, a rum and Coke, hunting and fishing at his lake homes in Aitkin and Park Rapids.  As an avid Vikings fan watched many games in the snow at the old Met. He loved to watch Dave and Dan play hockey for Breck and Joy ride in horse shows.  A lady’s man to the end, he was loved by his Cottagewood (Buffalo) “girlfriends:” Aileen, Joy, Betty, Lexi, Jessica, Chelsea, Haley, Alyssa, Fran, Maura, Leila, Kit, Autum, Sherri, Andrea, Tahnee and Makayla.  Cheerful, he kept his sense of humor to the end. Survived by sons Dave (Simona), Dan (Micki), daughter Joy, grandsons PFC Jacob and LCPL Luke (USMCR), and relatives Tony, Ron (Jackie) and Cindy (Chris).  Memorial Service was on May 8, at 12:00, Cassel Cemetery, Delano. A luncheon followed the memorial service at 5300 Calder Ave, Delano.
