Rosemary Swartzer

Rosemary Frances Swartzer age 81 of Watertown passed away surrounded by family on Friday, June 14, 2024.  She was born November 24, 1942, to Louis and Frances (Ceryes) Salonek in Franklin Township, Minnesota.

Rosemary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  She loved to laugh, read, listen to audio books, go camping, gardening, bowling, but most of all to spend time with family.  Rosemary grew up in Watertown and graduated from Watertown Mayer High School.  She met her future husband when they were children and was eventually united in marriage and celebrated 32 years before Georges untimely death on March 31, 1994.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband George; parents Louis and Frances Salonek; siblings and spouses Marvin and Izzy Salonek, Dorothy and George Campbell; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Mary Helen Swartzer; Walter Swartzer, Jack Swartzer, Joseph Sr Swartzer, Marvin Swartzer; Lorraine and Emmett Lynch and Luverne and Leo Blackketter, Sandy Swartzer, Thomas Kuka Sr., Ed Windsperger, Elizabeth “Betty” and Louie Bury.

She is survived by her children Todd Swartzer, Laurie (Jim) Drause; Grandchildren Maria Elliott (Justen Paulsen), Matthew Swartzer, Kaylee Swartzer (Casey Murphy), Rachel Banken (Anthony McCollum); great grandchildren Adam Blackowiak (SaVona Haidt), Libby (Blake) Maidl, Andy Blackowiak (Bailey Peura), Lacie Blackowiak, Alex Blackowiak, Lindsay Blackowiak, Camden Murphy, Evelyn Banken; great great Grandchildren Kallie Maidl, Waylon Maidl, Elliana Blackowiak; sisters and brother-in-law  Irene Swarzer, Margie and Mylen Cardinal; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Bob  and Marylynn Swartzer, Marian Kuka and Susan Windsperger;  Gene Swartzer, Ervin (Renee) Swartzer, Anthony Swartzer, Peter (Alice) Swartzer,  Dorothy Swartzer, Marian Kuka and Susan Windsperger; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of Czestochowa Catholic Church, 1867 95th St. SE. Delano, Minnesota.  Visitation took place in the church from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday prior to Mass.   Interment was in the church cemetery with a luncheon following.
