JOHNSON, RUTH VIVIAN

Age 87, long time resident of Rockford, Minnesota died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 24, 2016.

She was born to Joel and Emma Nelson of Litchfield, Minnesota on July 14, 1929 and was baptized and confirmed at Beckville Lutheran Church.  In 1951 she graduated from the University of Minnesota and worked in Minneapolis as a dental hygienist for several years.  In 1957 she married Miles Aga Johnson of Minneapolis.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Judith Emma and husband Miles and is survived by two sons, Dane of Minneapolis, and Tim of Rockford; daughter Melissa and husband Wayne Kalal of Eden Prairie; step-grandchildren Mason, Megan and Madison, as well as many sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews.

Memorial services were held Saturday, October 1 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Father’s Lutheran Church in Rockford, where she was a charter member.  The family received callers one hour prior to the service, and lunch followed.  Inurnment was at Beckville Lutheran Church Cemetery near Litchfield, Minnesota later that day.
