Theodore R “Ted” Salonek Sr. age 77 of Montrose died on Friday, October 22, 2010 at his home in Montrose. He was born April 6, 1933 to Theodore and Theresa (Lyrek) Salonek in Franklin Township, Minnesota.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents Theodore and Theresa Salonek; a brother Leo Salonek; nephew Steve Salonek; parents-in-law Herbert and Florence (Snodgrass) Jacobs; sister-in-law Kay Schmidt; nieces Angie Schmidt Cabrera and Beth Scherber.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Jean; children Joel and Tammy Salonek, Theodore J. and Therese Salonek, Suzanne and Jon Yager, Tom and Linda Salonek, Edward Salonek and fiancé Stephanie; 13 grandchildren: Erin Sieling and Jared, Kristy Salonek, Lauren Salonek, Teddy Salonek, Reba Salonek, Grace Salonek, Hope Salonek, Eli Salonek, Millie Salonek, Noah Yager, Theodore Salonek, Chad Roberts Jr., Olivia Salonek; siblings and spouses Paul (Elaine) Salonek, Urban (Rose) Salonek, Anne (George) Lambrecht, Donna (Don) Bloom; sister-in-law Marge Salonek, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Richard and Margie Jacobs, Patricia and Tony Scherber, Joe and Sheila Jacobs, Roger Schmidt; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, October 29, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown, Minnesota. Rev. Frank Wampach officiated at the Mass

Military Honors were provided by the Delano American Legion Post #377. Casket bearers were be Teddy Salonek, Jared Sieling, Jeff Jacobs, Pat Salonek, Mike Hoernemann, Jon Lambrecht, Jeff Salonek, and Kent Salonek.
