Vern LeRoy Kulberg age 76 of Delano previously of Hector MN died December 18, 2010 at his home in Delano. He was born January 22, 1934 to Albert and Anna (Lindquist) Kulberg Hector, Minnesota.

Vern was a positive giving soul whom was loved by many. He was united in marriage to Arlys Mae Paul on March 4, 1961 in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota. He was a proud worker of Red Owl Foods and retired from SuperValu. Vern’s focus was family and friends. He was a farmer at heart, working on the farm after marriage, at which point he moved to the cities for employment. After retirement, Vern was a regular at the local coffee clutches; Edie Mae’s in the morning and Coburn’s in the afternoon. Vern and Arlys enjoyed traveling, notably Germany and an extended stay in Alaska.

Vern was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Anna Kulberg; brothers Lawrence and Duane, and a sister Ester Jensen. He is survived by his wife Arlys (nee Paul), son Ken, daughter-in-law Lorri, grandchildren Jesse (Jenna), Scott, Melissa; great-grandchildren Connor, Karly; brothers Clarence, Walter, sisters Bev Peterson, Carol Ranzau, Doris Hillman brother-in-law Ray Jensen, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Light of Christ Lutheran Church in Delano, Minnesota. Interment services were held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the Swedlanda Lutheran Church in Hector, Minnesota. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
