Carl Ruben Rivers, age 85, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024 in Weatherford, TX.

Carl was born August 12, 1938, in Brainerd, MN, to Werner Gerhard and Vieno Sylvia (Pikkaraine) Rivers. He graduated from Brainerd High School in 1957. Carl married Helen Isaacson on August 22, 1959. They were married 57 years before her death in 2016.

Carl and Helen lived in the Minneapolis area during the early part of their marriage when Carl worked in the auto body repair business. He was a cofounder of Bob and Carl’s Auto Body in Osseo, MN. Carl’s lifelong interest in aviation lead him to pursue a career as a pilot. He worked for a short time in Illinois before moving to Texas in 1987. Carl was a corporate pilot for Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth, TX until his retirement in 2005. He enjoyed all things aviation and spent time with his friends in Texas flying RC airplanes after his retirement.

Carl was a member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church. He is survived by his brothers Jim (Greta) Rivers, David (Ruth) Rivers, sister Helen Sarkinen and many nieces, nephews and friends. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen, sister Ruth Koistinen and sister Mary Ann Sarkinen.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM prior to the service, all at the church. A lunch will immediately follow the service, with interment following the luncheon at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery in Delano, Minnesota.
