Benedict Kjarum

Ben Kjarum, 75, of Maple Plain, MN passed away Wednesday, October 8, at Ridgeview Medical Center with his family at his side after a year-long battle with cancer. Ben was born to Beatrice and Carl Kjarum on February 20, 1939 in Moose Lake, MN and was a baptized and confirmed member of the Lutheran Faith. He was united in marriage to Judith Dahlmeier on February 13, 1965. A licensed land surveyor for over 40 years, Ben enjoyed working outdoors both personally and professionally and pursuing his interest in Farmall tractors. He dedicated his life to taking care of what he said gave him purpose–his wife, family, home and neighborhood.

Ben is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Judy, and 2 daughters and son-in-laws Amy (Chris) Kelley and Kristin (Dan) Schmidt. As a helpful and dependable rock of responsibility, he will be sadly missed by his friends and family.

A Memorial Service was 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the Lyndale Lutheran Church, Maple Plain. A gathering of family and friends was Saturday, 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church.
