Valerie Marie (Maas) Anderson Wright, born March 31, 1918 in Shakopee, MN to Charles and Ann Maas, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the age of 97 years and 11 months.

Preceded in death by husbands Gordon Anderson and Vernon Wright, parents, sisters Joyce Otto, Delores Poliwoda; brothers Leon, Russ and Lloyd Maas.

Grateful that she is at peace, but missing her greatly are her son David Anderson (Mickey); daughter Diane McGrath Mechelke (Robin); 5 grandchildren Brett Anderson (Stephanie), Todd McGrath (Sara), Tory MCGrath (Erin), Tiffany McGrath (James Tainter) and Dawn Cotterman (David); 11 great grandchildren Audrey and Sophie Anderson, Alana, June and Keefer McGrath, Jackson and Rhys McGrath, Albert Tainter, and Bennett, Josephine and William Cotterman. Also survived by her sisters Lucille Styrbicky, Janice Van Lith Ruhr and Donna Leick; brothers-in-law Harry Poliwoda and George Otto

Family was the most important part of her life. She loved babies and children. She also loved to dance – with or without music.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 12 at 11:00 am at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to Mass in Martha’s Hall of St. Peter Catholic Church.
