Agatha M. "Aggie" Kunkel

Agatha Mary “Aggie” Kunkel, age 85 of Rockford, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Lake Ridge in Buffalo. She was born on May 21, 1931 in St. Nicholas, Minnesota to John and Frances (Schreifels) Flaschenriem.

Aggie married Leo “Tony” Kunkel on March 2, 1957. They moved to their hobby farm outside of Rockford in 1958.
Leo and Aggie enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, and spending time with their family. In addition to raising a family,
Aggie enjoyed raising chicken, ducks and geese in the early years. They also had a milking cow and neighbors would buy milk and eggs from her. Aggie loved gardening and would share the bounty with family and friends. She also enjoyed sewing and made beautiful quilts for each of her grandchildren. Her sly card playing and great hugs will be missed by us all.

Aggie was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Leo; parents; 4 brothers. She is survived by her children Rick (Julie) Flaschenriem, Pete (Kathy) Kunkel, Mary (Todd) Schulze, Tim (Cindy) Kunkel, Ken (Monica) Kunkel, Leo Kunkel; 15 grandchildren
Steve, Dan, John, and Billy Kunkel, Anthony (Tanya) Schulze, Carrie (Michael) Stafford, Jordan (Jenna) Kunkel, Alex Kunkel, Lauren (Ben) Kirchner, Chris and Ben Kunkel, Katie and Kevin Kemp, Allie and Wyatt Kunkel; 2 great grandsons Wesley and Theo; 2 brothers and 6
sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano, Minnesota. Visitation took place on Friday from 4 to 8p.m. with a 7:30 Prayer Service at Martha’s Hall of St. Peter Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Delano, Minnesota.
