Philip Joseph Tabery, “Phil” age 83 of Loretto passed away peacefully on Monday, January 27, 2020 at home surrounded by family.

Phil was a faithful and loving husband, father, and grandpa. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol (Budig); children Joe (Susanne) Tabery, Mike (Laurie) Tabery, Terry (Sandy) Tabery, Mary (Aaron) Smith and Susan (Shawn) Fobbe; grandchildren DeAnn (Jeff) Fink, Delissa (Mike) Madden, Jason Tabery, James (Mikayla) Tabery, Bryan (Nikki) Tabery, Anthony Tabery, Kyle (Amanda) Koop, Alexa Smith, Ellie Smith, Lydia Smith, Lucy Fobbe and Violet Fobbe; great-grandchildren Owen Fink, Weston Fink, Gus Madden, Annabelle Madden and Evan Tabery; brothers Leo (Doris) Tabery and George (Judy) Tabery; sisters Mary Jane Schmitz, Lois (Jerry) Kneisl and Vicky (Jake) Jakubiec.

Phil enjoyed family, friends, cabin, fishing, hunting, spear fishing and especially just being a grandpa. He was very active in volunteering in many organizations in the Loretto community, and the parish of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Phil was greatly loved and will be sorely missed and is now happy in heaven in God’s hands.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto. Visitation was Friday 4-8 PM in the Parish Center of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with a 3:30 p.m. rosary service and a 7:30 p.m. prayer service. Visitation continued Saturday 10-11 AM, prior to the Mass, in the church. Interment with Military Honors was in the church cemetery.
