Sandra (Sandy) Grams

Sandra Mary Grams, “Sandy” age 61 of Delano passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 3rd, 2022. She was born May 2nd, 1960 to Leonard and Maxine (Wurm) Schaust in Watertown, Minnesota.

Sandy was a loving wife, mother, nana, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. Sandy grew up in Delano and graduated from Delano High School in 1978. She was united in marriage to Rickie Grams on June 21, 1986 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Delano, Minnesota. Two years later they were blessed with a baby girl, Whitney and in 1990, twin baby boys, Cole and Chase. In 1993, they were again blessed with a baby girl, Billie Jo.
She loved cooking, cleaning, gardening, and taking care of her family. She always sacrificed her needs for the good of others. She also loved to read her bible and praying for others.

Sandy was a people person. She lit up a room with her bright smile and loud personality. She loved to socialize and spend time with family and friends. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Faith was a daily part of her life and she instilled this in her family. A firm believer in prayer and attending weekly Mass.

Sandy loved to do things for people and was known for her selfless care for others. She will be remembered for her generosity, unconditional love for others, and for always being the life of the party. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends and her memory will live on in our hearts forever.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Maxine Schaust; infant children, Cole and Chase Grams; parents in-law Milo and Beverly Grams; nephew Payton Schaust; numerous aunts and uncles and extended family. She is survived by her loving husband Rick; daughters Whitney Grams, Billie Jo (Jon) Hanson; grandchildren, Amara, Brooklyn, and Jayden Bogenrief, and Liam Hanson; siblings Leonard (Laurie) Schaust, Luann (Dale) Hoese, Gary (Debbie) Schaust, Betty (Charlie) Checkal, David (Shellie) Schaust; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Janell Yager, Robin (Greg) Close, Dawn (Josh) Etzler; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, February 11th, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, St. Peter’s campus in Delano, Minnesota. Visitation took place on Thursday, February 10th from 4 to 8 p.m. at St. Martha’s Hall of the St. Peter’s campus. There was a 3:30 p.m. rosary service on Thursday at the start of the visitation. Visitation continued on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the Mass. Interment was in the Calvary Cemetery in Delano, Minnesota.
